Time for my life story ;v
Last night, I received a warning for posting an inappropriate feed (which is completely understandable; I apologize) and it made me think: what if there was a way to select whether you would like to censor your messages or not?
For example, if you want your notifications to be "censored", there would be a setting in the Settings area where you can select
Censor?
Yes or no.
I can't give an example of what it would look like, but it would be similar to the Gender one in the Misc. Settings.
Whenever you post a feed, you have to choose whether or not the feed contains mature content, and those users who want their notifications censored wouldn't see it; even if that person is on their friend list. Feeds containing sexual things and/or language would be considered mature, and users who are under {insert age here} would automatically have their feeds censored. I'm not sure if there's already been a suggestion like this, but I believe it would make PH more child-friendly :>

Feel free to state any opinions! They're appreciated ♥

SUPPORT OVER 9000!
It'd probably be pretty hard to implement tho.

Now, where as a censoring feature might help - there are some problems with this idea.

Quote from Mimi-chanFeeds containing sexual things and/or language would be considered mature, and users who are under {insert age here} would automatically have their feeds censored.

Okay so, to start.. there is no way to tell what age a person is on the internet. People lie about their age all the time, and so a 9 year old kid could say they're 20+ and then not have their feeds censored because they lied about their age.

Also, feeds wouldn't even need to be censored if people just didn't post things like that. I mean, when you post things like that, you're breaking Rule 1.1, so you technically shouldn't be posting those types of feeds at all.

Quote from The Rules Page1.1 PokéHeroes should be a friendly community-based browsergame for every age. To ensure this, it is forbidden to use offensive swear words or to make any statement that is inappropriate for any age. This is valid for the whole site - including the forum, private messages, the pal pad, the chat, your 'about me', your user statuses as well as the nicknames of your adoptables and your own username.

Honestly if people just followed that rule, there would be no problem at all, so I don't necessarily see why this is needed.

@Furret- aha I see how that's true
I'm not saying that this is needed, but I think it would be a nice addition to the game, that's all
Thanks for your opinion :3

I'm with Furret on this. Have self control and just don't post inappropriate content. A lot of users on here don't seem to have the self control to do so which I don't understand to be honest. If you wanna share inappropriate content, there are most likely many sites out there for doing so, but PH isn't one of them. (Using * to block out letters in certain words doesn't change the fact that the word is inappropriate, just to let everyone know)

Ok. Time for Buizel is dumb stories. I was thinking that ph kept track of what age you are because i think they ask you for your birthday, unless that doesnt happen, then Im with Furret. But also, it'sarule,so why would you want to post things about that.Pleas dont think Im being rude.

The problem with censoring based on birthday is not that PH doesn't track them (I'm pretty sure they do, because as you said, they ask for your birthday)
The problem would be that people on the internet lie. Sometimes, little kids don't want to wait until they're old enough for the mature stuff, so they lie about their age to be able to already see the 'censored' side of the internet.

Which is also why that rule is important and having a censoring feature won't help as much as we'd (probably) like. Users who lie about their age to see the 'mature' content, won't use that censor-feature, as it would defeat the purpose of having lied, and won't be put in the automatic 'censor' list, because according to the site, they're old enough to see it.

This feature, to me, seems more like a way to get around rule 1.1 (thus encouraging rule breakers), as the reason this would be implemented, is shielding young players (who didn't lie about their age) from feeds that actually break said rule. All I can see happening if this is implemented is more mature feeds 'because they can be censored through the Misc. Settings', even though they'd still be against the rules...

(tldr; it sounds nice, but personally, I can only see this backfiring)

Oh, I also believe this was already suggested here~ There are some differences but they still have the main idea of filtering/censoring.
