Geisha13, That's a good idea, but I'm not righting the story itself right now, just coming up with the character... So that's why I'm putting it all in one.

Orsteinbyr
A decent size port in the north, on the northern and eastern sides cliffs surround the town protecting it from the worst of the blizzards and the biting winds. To the west the oft frozen ocean stretches off to the horizon. To the south snow laden plains extend for as far as the eye can see. From Orsteinbyr's walls icicles extend down and the torches barely melt them. Within Orsteinbyr itself there is a longhouse, typical of the northern towns and villages, that is inhabited by Göran and his family, a smithy where his daughter works and several small houses where tanning racks are a common sight. A mine extends into the cliff on the northern side where iron and coal are mined. Residents of Orsteinbyr make their living by fishing, mining or most commonly raiding various cities and towns along the coast. In the winter months boats are dragged from the harbour out to the nearest stretch of water and in the short summer months the boats are oft launched from the harbour itself.

I often end up making up characters I never end up using though ^^'
(some times when that happens I use them all in one big story hehe)
I love making up characters, but not necessarily writing a story about/with them.
Hey Nessy, would it be ok if I "sold" (more like gave away) Characters? Because like I said, I love to design characters, but often have no purpose for them ^^'
...and sometimes people have hard times designing characters... So it's a win win- right?

I've designed quite a few more characters now. I think I'm gonna use one or two in a story soon.
Also I might make a poem soon about a sad life event.

I'd probably be more motivated if I knew PH people were in on it, just sayin'. :p

While I don't plan on participating in NaNoWriMo, I'm setting my own writing challenge. I want to fill a whole journal notebook with writings while I sit in a coffee shop.

NaNoWriMo or national novel writing month happens twice a year. june and november I think.
They have goals and suchlike.....
Actually, now that I'm rethinking it, I might just try it this time around

Once or twice more during the middle of the year is "Camp" NaNo, where you can set your own writing goals. That's the one that's a-happening (this time) in July. The Camping months change from time to time, haha.
If you have any questions about that, I think I'm qualified to answer. XD

I'm setting my goal a little lower than last time, because a) the last one was strangely tough, and b) I'm still deciding which story I'm gonna work on. Guess I have to choose pretty soon. /D
