Camp Half-Blood and the House of Life *Open and Accepting!*
Forum-Index → Roleplay → Camp Half-Blood and the House of Life *Open and Accepting!*Callie just randomly sat on her red plush armchair (which was soo comfy she decided that it was better than her bunk in the Cabin #20.) She stifled a snort of laughter when Percy suggested blue Coke (that guy was obsessed with blue, she swore.) The son of Ares (wasn't his name Chase or something?) made some snarky comments, and Callie just mentally shook her head when he suggested dinner.
When the dark-skinned boy muttered a spell and made his sister shut up though, Callie froze. She knew that magic. It wasn't Greek at all. Callie stood up so fast the armchair fell over. In a blink of an eye she had her daggers summoned straight from the Mist. "I know that magic," She said slowly, her daggers glinting dangerously. "My half-brother had that. It's not your typical magic. Who are you? I heard your names. But who are you exactly?"
She couldn't help the feeling. She knew what they were, but she wanted to clarify. After all, her brother was dead because of that magic.
Kane
The pendant glowed even more hotly, if it was possible. Kane yelped and dropped the wax statue he was working on. "It's never been this active," He muttered out loud. "Sis? Are you really alive?"
He took off the necklace and pushed at a certain spot on the pendant, and there was a soft hiss. The pendant glowed and began to elongate until it was a copper staff that twisted around an extremely large emerald on top. It was risky transforming the pendant into a staff when he was in the Nome, but Kane couldn't help it. The staff glowed with an alien magic, its emerald showing images of all sorts of things. As powerful as it was, Kane couldn't use it. Its magic was different, so to speak.
It was something his half-sister had given him before he moved away. And when he was in danger, the pendant would transform into a staff, and scare off most monsters. It had saved his life multiple times.
"I don't think I can ever return the favor...Callie," Kane sighed, gripping the staff tightly.
[Yus, Kane and Callie be siblings. 'Cept Kane has a different mother. Though he still has Greek god blood in him, blood of the pharaohs dominates (TALK ABOUT SHADOWHUNTER REFERENCE.) Both think the other is dead, and Kane has a protection staff Callie used to own x3 And if no one got the little details: Kane has silver-gray eyes like a child of Athena while Callie has green eyes from her mother, Hecate. yash. i is done with spoilers.]

In fact, she was pretty sure Nico didn't even know she existed. Vera didn't really mind, though. She could tell by that rueful look on his face that he could be pretty sarcastic, and even if she had the time for that what was it worth?
She threw the blood-red blankets off of her, and felt her neck. She was sweating, which was a bit strange counting that the Hades Cabin was estimated −170 °C during the Summer or something. But what the heck, she was a Hades child--a freak.
Hades was the god of death, and didn't he kidnap some goddess he liked? Vera personally thought that was just over-obsession. But this was coming from Vera, one of the freakiest Hades children of them all (counting there were only two). She was probably weirder than the Head Counselor, who was only here like once a month.
She could only cry out of her left eye and the right was a blood-red and bled occasionally. People thought she was cursed, but she'd never told anyone why her eye bled...
Vera climbed out of the coffin-shaped bed (some idiot had decided Hades children were vampires... She needed to find that person) and bent on her knees to dig under the bed.
She pulled out her bow and arrow, the bow made of complete polished silver--a gift from her father.
Vera was rather surprised her father actually showed up on her tenth birthday to give her it. Wasn't he the god of ''busy'' stuff?
Quietly she peeked out of the door, her eyes flitting to the bright-green Greek fire that flickered on the torches for a second.
The coast was clear, and she slipped out of the door and bounded off to somewhere. Her right eye began to stream a crimson-red as she ran, but it didn't matter. Nobody would know the trail was her. She was probably a nobody in Camp Half-Blood, anyways.

She just wanted to see if they were in love, so she'd know to stay away from them later on. Or maybe that was just what she was hoping...
No, Vera. Stop thinking like that. She scolded herself silently, pinching her arm with a scowl. She hated to admit it, but she actually wanted to watch the two newbies form in a relationship.
There was a tingling inside of her that'd knew it would happen. I think like a stupid Aphrodite girl, Vera thought as she stealth-crept to another bush as the couple moved on.
But if Hades is pretty much the god of shadows... She narrated in her mind and she leaped for another hiding spot.
I take after my father... She thought in disgust. The two stood under a slightly withered tree, leaving Vera to think like an Athena child would.
She shoved an arrow into her bow, pulling the string and knock back to her cheek.
Her eyes shut tightly as she released, and the arrow silently hit the large tree branch.
The large tree branch slammed to the ground with a soundly creak, right next to the girl.
The girl didn't squeal, surprisingly, but stumbled into the boy's chest, which sent them flying to the ground. Who said Hades children stay in the shadows silently? Vera's mouth curved into a grin. She quickly scurried away, to Cabin #13 in retreat.
Alyssa stumbled into Sparrow, throwing both of them over as the tree branch slammed towards her. This sent both of them to the ground and in an awkward state. Their faces were so close together that their noses touched, which made her face flush red as she pushed herself up with her arms and stumble to her knees. "Uh..." She muttered awkwardly. "Pretend it never happened?" Sparrow said hollowly. Alyssa nodded.

Carter
"I'm surprised you hadn't heard of my sister and I," he said while grabbing his khopesh out of the Duat, just in case. "We saved the world and all. Well, you aren't like anyone I've ever met. They either try to kill us, or be our friends. We happen to get more of the 'try to kill us' type. You're not trying to kill us, but you guys aren't exactly friendly either," he said, thoughtfully. Carter watched as Sadie tried to dispel the spell that he put on her."We're magicians, if that's what you were asking, and we follow the Path of the Gods." he finished.
Sadie had finally broke free by this time, and was determined to talk more than Carter did. "Yeah," she said, "And Egyptian Magicians sounds pretty catchy." Carter sighed. "That is beside the point," he said. He noted how Callie still had the daggers out. "Ha-tep," Carter said, and the blue hieroglyph for "Be at Peace" glowed above Callie's head. Hopefully, that would work. "Err... it's cool that the spells are blue," Percy said, breaking the temporary silence.
"I'm pretty sure you don't get mummified until you die," commented Sadie, "But Carter's the one who knows all about Egyptians, so ask him. I, for one, think his random knowledge is annoying."
Nico sat against a tree in the corner of the training area.
Callie listened intently to their explanation. At the mention of "Path of the Gods," her grip tightened on the daggers. She glanced up briefly at the symbol hovering over her head, and stabbed upwards. The symbol shattered like glass, raining blue sparkles (Seriously?) over her. "You're not too good with hieroglyphs are you? By any chance, do you know someone named Kane Eversley?" She continued calmly, loosening her grip on her daggers. "Which god? By the look of your weapon, Horus, is it? And you," She turned to Sadie, "I can faintly make out a magic trail from you. Which goddess is it?"
She paused to sheath her daggers. These two were like her brother; she supposed she could trust them. "Name's Calliope. Daughter of Hecate," She introduced herself.
They'd be probably stunned at the amount she knew. Of course, it was mainly Kane's fault. He insisted on telling everything to her back when they were kids.
[I swear to the f***ing gods if you guys don't stop making frigging short posts and clogging up the thread I will hunt you down and hang you upside down by your underwear on the Statue of Liberty.]

Sadie
Sadie laughed when the hieroglyph failed. "Sadie's the hieroglyph girl," said Carter, "I'm a combat magician. I'm just trying to 'broaden my horizons'. And you're right, I follow the Path of Horus." Sadie wouldn't let Carter take over the conversation that easily. "I follow Isis. My hieroglyphs are much better than his because of that," she said.
That Percy guy was just standing there with absolutely no idea what we were talking about. "We know a Kane Eversley. He's in our Nome. I always thought it was funny how Carter and I's last name is Kane, and this guy's first name is Kane..." Sadie began. "How do you know him?" demanded Carter. Sadie remembered something. "Isn't Hecate a Greek goddess or something?" she asked.
"Makes sense," She nodded at their explanations.
Her heart sped up when the girl, Sadie, said they knew a Kane from their Nome. It took Callie a few moments before she could properly reply. "Hecate's the Greek goddess of magic, yeah. Even if that hieroglyph didn't fail, it probably wouldn't work," Callie smirked at the memory of Kane trying to tie her up with a hieroglyph, which had pathetically failed. "Hecate kids are pretty good at manipulating any form of magic."
Callie bit her lip, trying to figure out a way to explain her connection to Kane. Percy and Annabeth WERE still in fact there...and Kane wasn't the only secret she kept from them after all.
"They'll find out sooner or later. You should just say."
She inwardly grimaced at the truth in the voice's words. Nevertheless, she responded carefully. "You could say...he's my half-brother."
Callie braced herself for the reactions.
