How would you feel when your favorite character dies? The character can be either a game character, anime, books, TV shows, comics, basically any source :D
I've read some people's reactions on the internet before when their favorite character dies, usually ranges from crying, using fanfics to keep them alive, or even just accept it. How about you guys?

My reaction usually consists of myself trying to keep the character alive via reading fan-fics, even though I don't go crying about it, there are 3 characters whose death hits me quite hard.

I'm usually used to the favorite character dying, especially since they're usually the villain :P

When there's an unexpected death it usually has me going "NOOOOOOOO D:" and hating the guts of whoever killed them and that's about it xD

Well since my favourite series/book is Game Of Thrones i am pretty used to the death of the characters that i enjoy the most :/ but most of the times i just want to lay down and i get quite mad because normally it's always unexpected.

Still if Korra dies in the end of book 4 in the Legend of Korra i'll be hella sad :(

In warrior cats, Bluestars prophecy, i got super mad when snowfur got hit by that truck. CURSE YOU SHADOWCLAN WARRIORS AND CURSE YOU STUPID MONSTER (monster is what the cats call a car in the books..)

I can understand that it's sometimes important for the story to let a character die. In one of my own writings I once let one of the characters die by the hands of the villain. It was needed for my storyline. Those I let it proofread were like 'what, why did you let him die?!'
I'm flattered they felt that way, it means I created a likeable character and I know the'll be able to sympathize with the hero.

That being said, when a favourite character of mine dies, naturally I don't like that.

But I will accept it. I do tend to go back to a book/movie where the character was still alive and enjoy it the moments everything was still fine even more.

It depends. In PMD, the main character (you) 'dies' at the end (Disappears). Grovyle's death (disappearance) was saddening

Most of my favorite characters generally end up dead. If I really loved the series I read/write fanfics to make it so that they never died in the first place.

With every death though I cuddle up on my bed with my cuddle pillow and just drown in my feels.

Right now though, I'm at the point where I don't fall for anime characters anymore for fear of their deaths. Seriously. After both Akame ga Kill and Dangan Ronpa, I don't think I can handle anymore of my beloveds dying.

My reaction is usually just: "Nooooooo! *insert the name here* than I start sobbing.. than it takes me a while to get back to that book/manga/anime/movie/series.

I usually go and find happy fanfics about that character afterwards though and it usually helps me out :3

One of my favorite characters in a series I just got into died early in the first game. I wasn't expecting it, either. I was really sad when she died, but I'm mostly over it now.

There's this song that reminds me of her and a character I ship her with, though, and ouch it breaks my heart.

I was the most upset at my favorite anime character's death.I remember at the end her leaning on his shoulder, "you were the best friend I never had" She then got turned to stone with a plaque that says Terra

It's funny story actually, since my favorite character hasn't died yet (where I'm at at least) I'll do second favorite~

Me: *In class so couldn't talk so writes a note to my (no loner) friend saying "NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO! SliverStream Died! D="*

She replied on note: " Yay!"

Me: *Chases her down at recess.*

My reaction usually ranges, if it's a t.v show I am not usually hit by it, but when I read a book and I get really attached to that character I do cry a bit. I was bawling when I watched a certain someone from the HG series in the movies die though so it all depends on my attachments.

I'm an overemotional person, so most of the time my brain spends like months before processing the fact that someone died (DOOOOOOOOBBBBBYYYY WHY?! :'( )

That's when I have a quick moment of silence for the fallen and then start planning how to resurrect them in fanfictions :3

But as a budding writer, I am forced to admit that deaths of characters are necessary, and actually make the readers more interested in the story.

It usually starts with staring at the book while i process the fact that my fav character died, then screaming and/or crying, then yelling at the author, then throwing the book across the room, then feeling bad because I threw my book and the pages might get bent, then creating some complex way in my head that the fictional character survived

My favorite character is Dumbledore because his name is so dumb and when he died i burst out laughing like an idiot.
