The nurse’s hand on his face only made it worse, his yellow eyes were wide and he looked like he was just gaping for something to say.

The little boy just stared right back at him, the dagger reflecting light. “You’re not tough.” His voice changed, something more cynical, less childlike. “You’re acting. Convincingly. Not convincingly enough.”

Ayukka kind of shimmied out of Kal’s arms near the doorway, though she was still quite weak.

Remus didn’t respond. His eyes were fixed on this nurse and he was fully alert, snapped out of his gaze, though still quite in pain. He slowly was turning a slight pinkish hue from the neck up.

Ayukka kind of shrunk away, going quiet. She was dizzy and trying not to show weakness.

The boy just watched him, there was something...off bout him. His gaze was Too blank. Dollike. Glassy.

There were already signs that something had gone wrong, dark droplets of blood spattered close to the entrance of the central area, only becoming more numerous as they walked in. There was a young boy in the corner, a dagger in his hands. He seemed to be cowering, and had lashed out in fear at Ayukka, who was bleeding heavily from a gash along her arm. She was trying to staunch the bleeding, slumped against the wall in a less than graceful manner. She seemed much more fixated on stopping the bleeding, which made sense, if they knew her condition.

Brennus let out a long, low hissing sound, he had been sent against the wall by the blast but got back up and attack again. This repeated a few times before he collapsed, and he almost seeemed to wake up from his trance.

Remus just whined softly, shaking his head to try and clear his thoughts.

Meanwhile, that small figure had gotten to his feet, running off into the heart of the maze, far from Brennus and Genma. He passed Ayukka, who turned, letting out a confused and startled noise.

	Brennus’s eyes were blank. Empty. His wings spread from his back agressively, the sharp forefathers aimed to slash the boy. A small, slumped body of a little boy lay in a corridor, tucked close to the wall. He was almost imperceptibly breathing. Remus was laying as close to the ground as possible, he couldn’t move from the pain in his head at this point. [Read more]
