“I guess you could say I’ve adopted him. He’s definitely my son in my eyes.” Remus’ voice was cheery, not knowing he was still outside.

Ayukka has left the room, her eyes downcast as she walked. She couldn’t help the doubt that pushed itself into her gut, and felt tears sting her eyes. She was useless in that situation in the maze and it haunted her. A woman with pride like hers held that kind of wound close, and as she walked down the hallway she kept her arms wrapped around herself, trying to quell the feeling.
