Allowing users to use HTML is quite dangerous, however. You can do very evil stuff with it, for example... <a onclick="$('#post_field div').css('background', 'white');">Click this</a>! Don't worry, that's not actually malicious - but it demonstrates what you could do with HTML

The chance of getting a shiny plushie is 20%.

The shiny chance goes up by 2% per plushie you adopt on average; in the beginning, the increment is slower, and later it speeds up by a lot. For 100% chance, you need to adopt 50 Plushies.

Minor notice regarding the current Black Friday sale: If you buy the 4-months premium deal 3-times (thus for a full year), I'll send you a Retro Mew Egg Voucher after the sale has ended. :)
If you buy two years, of course, you'll receive two vouchers.

23/11/2022:

Eh, forget about the update I published an hour ago; it was a temporary solution while I finished this thing now - and I didn't expect this thing to be finished this quickly.

Two things have been added to the Pokémon page: Their type as well as a link to their family tree.

Note that we have started collecting data about mother-/fatherhood on August 20th, 2022. So any Pokémon obtained before that does not have info about their parents stored.
By the way, this also affects Pokémon eggs obtained from the Tall Grass. Since all of the tall grass eggs originally come from the daycare, you can now find out who originally bred this egg for you! Enjoy ~

The problem is that Pokeheroes currently has a bad reputation on GMail, so they reject our mail. This is because we hadn't fulfilled their high (new) standards for a month or two. We do fulfill these standards now, but GMail takes some time until they "trust" again. Probably around 30-60 days. In the meantime, you can help by sending a short mail to [email protected], so that GMail understands that you ARE interested in receiving mail from PH.
And if you do receive mail from PH, make sure to move it from your spam folder to your regular inbox. This also helps greatly.

Sorry for the inconvenience. :/

Please try again once more. I've implemented a fix which worked for me personally. Make sure to check your SPAM-folder and move the mail to the regular inbox if possible.

16/11/2022:

You can now view little star icons next to your Pokémon's stats if they have good or perfect IVs:

If your Pokémon has perfect IVs (31), a gold star is displayed.
If your Pokémon has good IVs (29 or 30), a silver star is displayed.

What are IVs?
Individual Values (IVs) (sometimes also referred to as Determinant Values - DVs) are a value of a Pokémon influencing its stat. It cannot be changed once the Pokémon has hatched from an egg. The value ranges from 0 to 31 for each stat value.
To be more precise, a Pokémon's stat is determined by its base stat, level, nature, effort values (which can be trained over time) and the constant IVs. Basically: The higher its IVs on a certain stat, the higher will be that stat's value. If you want to learn more about them, I recommend you to check out the Bulbapedia article.
In other words: If your Pokémon is showing a silver or gold star next to its "Health Points" value, for example, it means that it has a higher Health Points stats than other Pokémon of the same type on that level with the same nature.

This info is useful for battling and the Bug Hatching Contest (=> Talent rating), since higher stats mean better chances of winning. However, I suppose they are also very nice/cool to look at :)

How do I influence a Pokémon's IVs?

The odds of having a random Pokémon with full perfect stats is roughly 1:1 Billion. There is currently no Pokémon on-site with fully perfect IVs.

In the Bug Hatching Contest, the Talent info shown after the minigame influences the egg's IVs. The better its talent rating, the higher its IVs on average.

And what's new with this update is so-called IV breeding:
For each individual stat, there is a 5 % chance that a Pokémon inherits the IVs for this stat from its mother, and a 5 % chance that it inherits the IV from the father. Thus, there is "only" a 90% chance that it's completely random.
With the new item Destiny Knot, however, the chance of passing on IVs is increased by a factor of 4. If the Mother Pokémon holds this item while breeding, she now has a 20% chance (for each stat) to pass on her IVs. The same is true for the Father Pokémon. Thus, when both parents hold this item, there's only a 60% chance (for each stat) that the IVs are random. With this technique, you can try to maximise a Pokémon's IVs with careful, iterative breeding.
The only way of obtaining the new item Destiny Knot is currently through Mystery Boxes.

Hope you enjoy :)

A Rogue Monkey (Zarude)

The leaves have long since fallen from the trees, winter is approaching. The days are getting shorter, and the temperature colder and colder. Slowly it's time to get cozy at home! ... But what is that raging so loudly out there? Is that a... Monkey?

Zarude visits Emera Town for the first time!
Many of you have awaited its appearence in town: The legendary Pokémon, Zarude, visits Emera Town for the rest of the month and presents interesting trainers very special gifts.
How to get its attention, you wonder? Well, perhaps interacting with many Pokémon will get Zarude excited!

<img src="//staticpokeheroes.com/img/news/zarude_userbar.png" style="float: left; width: 255px; border: 2px solid; margin: 8px">Meeting Zarude
The requirement to meet Zarude is very simple: Interact. Interact a lot!
There is no set interaction requirement - it appears randomly. Maybe after 100 interactions, maybe after 1,000 interactions - or, if you're pretty unlucky, maybe after 100,000 interactions.
When Zarude wants to meet you, a small icon pops up in your Userbar:
You can't miss it. Zarude stays there until you claim its gift.
Notice: It's not possible to have multiple Zarude in your Userbar at the same time. You have to accept Zarude's gift in order to meet it again.

<div id="greenfield">Feeding berries (instead of "training" a Pokémon) gives a 20% higher chance of encountering Zarude!</div>

Zarude's Gift
Zarude will offer you two different gifts:
A legendary Zarude Egg and a Zarude Plushie (which has a 20% of being shiny). Tough choice!

Increase Zarude's shiny chance
You can actively increase the odds of receiving a Shiny Zarude egg by first accepting Zarude Plushies as the gift you receive. Every time you claim the plushie gift, the shiny chance for the next Zarude egg you'll claim increases. Your current shiny chance is always displayed below the Zarude egg option on the event page.
As soon as you claim a Zarude egg, however, the chance resets back to normal and you'll have to "shiny chain" the plushies again. So it might be advisable to stay patient until the odds are high enough!
And if you are superduper patient and want to reach a 100% shiny chance, then there's good news: The shiny odds are carried over to the next year, so you can continue to raise it year by year - however long it will take you.

Zarude stays until November 30th, 2022.

05/11/2022:

Rebalance regarding the gem collector:
Since Fairy Gems and most importantly Dragon Gems are generally a lot more valuable than all the other gems, using them for buying regular eggs from the gem collector doesn't make a lot of sense. At least not when you need 20 Dragon Gems to buy an "Easy"-rarity Dragon egg.
That's why the prices for Dragon & Fairy eggs have been adjusted:
- Dragon eggs now only require 20% of the regular amount of gems per egg (2 per Easy egg, 4 per Medium egg, 8 per Hard egg, 12 per Rare egg, ...)
- Fairy eggs now only require 80% of the regular amount of gems per egg (8 per Easy egg, 16 per Medium egg, 32 per Hard egg, 48 per Rare egg, ...)

Not "completely random", no. But Hitmontop could be a bit tricky to get. The other two are easier to predict/influence, so it's worth going for Hitmontop first, in case it evolves wrongly at first.
