Fixed shiny rates like retros or the current Zeraora Event are not affected by it.

Everything else is.

Thank you for your feedback!

I fully get what you mean, and I'm sorry to hear that the prize distribution hadn't been the best experience for you. To clarify right away: The procedure is indeed that the winner should contact me directly via PM as soon as they're ready (i.e. they have an empty spot in their party). If I just sent the shiny right away, some users with a full party would receive a hatched version - which not everyone may want.

Though I agree that we should make this more clear in the future. I'll let the contest team know that it would be best to include this info in the contest description or the winner announcement.

Using berries does increase your chances. The FAQ statement was an old copy-paste that has now been removed

Zeraora is back to town!

Attention residents and trainers of Emera Town, we have breaking news for you:
The mysterious Pokémon from the Alola-Region, Zeraora, has been sighted once again near the Town Square of our beloved town! It hides in the shadows and apparently watches trainers interacting with their Pokémon. It seems to be attracted by love and kind gestures - so let's show Zeraora that our town is the most warm-hearted one in the country!

How to meet Zeraora:
Zeraora will appear randomly in your Userbar while you're interacting. The more interactions you make, the higher are your chances to meet it.

It might take a thousand interactions, sometimes even ten thousand or more until you meet it - so you'll need a little luck and patience!
Once Zeraora appears in your userbar, it will stay there until you click on it and claim its gift.

<div id="greenfield">Feeding berries (instead of "training" a Pokémon) gives a 20% higher chance of encountering Zeraora!</div>

Zeraora's Gift
Zeraora gives you the choice between two different gifts:
A legendary Zerora Egg and a Zeraora Plushie (with a 20% chance of being shiny)! The decision is up to you!

Increase Zeraora's shiny chance
Starting from this year, you can actively increase the odds of receiving a Shiny Zerora egg by first accepting Zerora Plushies as the gift you receive. Every time you claim the plushie gift, the shiny chance for the next Zerora egg you'll claim increases. Your current shiny chance is always displayed below the Zeraora egg option on the event page.
As soon as you claim a Zeraora egg, however, the chance resets back to normal and you'll have to "shiny chain" the plushies again. So it might be advisable to stay patient until the odds are high enough!
And if you are superduper patient and want to reach a 100% shiny chance, then there's good news: The shiny odds are carried over to the next time Zeraora comes back to town, so you can continue to raise it year by year - however long it will take you.

This event ends on June 25th 2023, at 11:59PM.

Frequently Asked Questions:
Show hidden content

Q: Can I have more than one Zeraora in my userbar?
A: No.

Q: Can I get more than one Zeraora during this event?
A: Yes, it's theoretically unlimited.

Q: Do clicklists count?
A: Yes, all interactions count. Training, feeding, clicklists, free hugs on the Index-Page... everything! Also all kinds of interactions give you the same chance to find Zeraora.

Q: Do my interactions for this event reset at midnight?
A: As said, there is a random chance of finding Zeraora after every interaction. There is no counter that has to reach a limit or whatever. The chances are the same after each interaction.

Q: Does Zeraora automatically disappear from my userbar?
No, Zeraora will stay in your userbar until you claim its gift (i.e. the egg) or until the event ends. Even when you try to claim the egg while your party is full, it will still stay there and wait for you to come back.

Q: Does Zeraora break my shiny chain?
A: No.

They hadn't been removed, there was just a conflict with a hard-scheduled event at that time, so the "dynamic" rotation was disabled for a few days. I'll move this to "Solved" since the events are actually happening again every 2 weeks.

This bug has now been fixed.

Please note that in order to fully explore an area (especially at a high level), your Pokémon must explore the area for more than 2 hours. Because basically, in two hours the Pokémon won't go too far, thus not reach the farthest corners of the area.
I don't know exactly why the report at the end of a mission still showed that new parts were explored, but they actually weren't in your case.

Fix #2: I've found out that the invisible Pokemon eggs actually do exist, they were just stored at an invalid location.
I have now moved unhatched quest eggs to your Egg storage (even if you don't have enough capacity) and your hatched quest eggs to your first Storage Box. Please check there and move your eggs back to your party in order to continue with the quest.

Sorry it took a while, but the issue should now be fixed!

You should've received the Alola Map regardless, but indeed missed out on the Alolan Vulpix... I hope that's alright'ish? ><'
There's no real easy way to check in hindsight who "missed out on the Alolan Vulpix" and should thus now receive one... But if you urgently and really care about it, then do let me know. But remember that you can also get it via breeding and from the Alola region itself.

You still have a full day to find the remaining eggs, everyone! I believe in you - you can do it! 😊
And don't be sad if you don't manage to find all 20. Remember that there's a redistributed event with a strongly increased shiny chance as a consolation prize.

Also wanted to express special thanks to our staff (as well as all users who contributed in the egg spriting contest!) for making this event happen :)

Eggs have been hidden once more, see this post.
As a "sorry for the inconvience", the event has been extended by 1 day and the shiny chance will be boosted even further for the reward(s) you can get.

Looks like the Wreafkis played a late April Fool's on us! They made the eggs click-able on the event page, thus making it extremely easy to find them...
The Wreafkis have decided to hide the Easter eggs once more. This time, without making it so easy for you. They feel sorry about the inconvenience, however, and have decided to the extend the event by one day and boost the shiny chance of the reward even more!

<div id="redfield">Special Event Rule:

<div id="redfield">Eggs had to be hidden once more (April 2nd, 6:40AM). See this post</div>

Easter Egg Hunt 2023

<img src="//staticpokeheroes.com/img/news/easter2022.png" style="float: right; margin-top: -44px; margin-left: 12px">
Cute Wreafki were seen floating around in Emera Town: They carry fancy colored eggs with them, which they hide carefully in all different spots!
It's Easter Week - and as it's tradition in this town, not only children search for Easter Eggs, but also motivated Pokémon Trainers! As everyone knows, when you collect enough Easter Eggs, you receive a brandnew Event Pokémon!.

Task:
Our great community created 20 beautiful Easter Eggs in an exciting Spriting contest during the last few weeks. The winner eggs have now been hidden on PokéHeroes, and you have to find them (click on them)!
They can be anywhere: In your settings, in town, in the forums*, hidden in old news... everywhere**! Userprofiles are excluded, so don't fall for trolls in 'About Me's!
Just like last year, the locations vary for every trainer. There are over 140 different locations this year - and every trainer has 20 randomly*** selected locations from that pool.
However, the eggs are obviously still static for you in their location. For example, when one of your easter egg locations is the Daycare, it will always stay there until you find it. It will not move around or (dis)appear randomly.

* If one of your eggs is hidden in a forum thread, then you find the egg in every thread and on every page of it. They are never bound to a specific thread. Therefore if you don't find any egg in this news thread, you will not find an egg in any other forum thread.
** Trainerlevel 15 may be required to access all possible locations. You may also need special items that unlock certain areas, such as the PokéRadar or the Egg Radar. Premium membership is not required.
*** To have a fair event, the randomize algorithm considers location difficulties in its calculation. That means that it's not possible for a user to have 15 "easy" locations while someone else has 15 "hard" locations. The algorithm tries to balance the difficulty as best as possible.

This graphic illustrates where the eggs can be hidden on the page: Egg Areas.
They can all be found on small screens, as well as on mobile devices.

Event Prizes:
If you find between 16 and 19 Easter eggs, you receive a redistributed Event egg from a previous year.
If you find all 20 Easter eggs, you receive a new Event egg!
In either case, the Event egg you'll receive has a strongly increased shiny chance.
It will be possible to claim your rewards on April 12th (and it will remain possible to claim them for two weeks).

<br style="clear: both">

Event Rule:
Even though the locations are random for every player, you are still not allowed to spoil any location anywhere on PokéHeroes! Telling someone where you found an egg will lead to a disqualification from this event.
When you see someone asking for help/hints, do not answer them as you are only risking your own participation in this event!

<div id="redfield">Special Event Rule:
You are not allowed to spoil the Easter Egg Locations to other players!</div>

Enjoy and happy holidays! c:

13/03/2023:

A new "OT"-mode has been added to the PokéDex: You can now set your Pokédex to consider only Pokémon with yourself as the "Original Trainer".

With this new feature, the requirement for the dex certificates/rewards has been slightly changed: In order to receive the special dex reward from Prof. Rowan, you now need a complete dex in one region (unchanged) + at least 40% of these entries must have you as their OT (new). This is to prevent users from just dex-trading an entire region in order to easily get the dex reward. For example: In order to finish your Kanto dex, you need 150 Kanto dex entries and 60 of those entries must also have you as their OT (visible via the new OT mode).
This change does not affect users who already claimed the certificate in the past.

Imo, 40% is a fair balance, as it still encourages you to trade with others - but at the same time, you have to put in at least a bit of effort yourself to gather new research data for Rowan.
